12-24-09    Ok So I took almost a year off of writing in this thing..........So........ Anyway I decided to start writing again. There were several times when I wanted to write but decided not to because the journal was closed. Ok so what has happened in almost a year............Same old stuff actually. Work, ride, eat, sleep etc. Some big news is that long time FPMXer, Charlie Beck was promoted to the Chief of Police for the City of Los Angeles, California! That's pretty huge if you ask me...... Charlie even showed up to do battle on the Glen Helen turf at the 2009 Christmas GP/Toy Drive shortly after being promoted. I actually didn't think that he would have the time to make it but I was wrong for the forty sixth time in my life. I was upset that I couldn't race due to a knee injury. A knee injury that I really don't have an idea how I hurt it. I was doing some CPR at work (actually saved the guy) and felt a little pain after. Over the next three days the pain increased to a point where I needed to put my hand under my knee to move my foot from the gas to the brake in the Fire Engine and decided to go home and have it looked at. The Doc didn't have a clue and wanted me to see my ortho surgeon but by the time my appointment date came around I was better and back to work. Lucky for me the only time that I was off work on Injury was the time that I wanted to ride in the GP. What are the odds? My favorite race of the year and I can't ride in it again due to a stupid knee injury that I really don't remember injuring. Oh well I will try to stay healthy for the Wii GP on February 9th at Glen Helen. We are raising $ for Wii games for the kids at Loma Linda in the Pediatric Cancer Ward. Please come out and support this event and the kids at Loma Linda..........What else? Suppercross is coming up, this year I decided to throttle back and go for the ride more this year than dedicating my life to it like I did last year. For 2010 the riders will provide their own bikes etc. and we will be there to support them with as much as we can provide w/o going deep into our pockets. Last year was expensive. For 2010 the FPMX will be racing at two facilities that are new to the FPMX schedule, Cahuilla Creek and Racetown. I have been hounded for years to go to these places and I feel that it might be a good thing for the FPMX to have a couple of new stops on the circuit. Arizona was a thought but I just couldn't justify the potential financial loss. Maybe AZ on the 2011 schedule, we'll see. Well I hope that everyone has a great Christmas and let's make the 2010 FPMX season the best ever. See ya at A1....................e out

2-20-09    Been busy. My new thing is FPMX TV, check it out................e

1-5-09    Happy New Year! Right now I am sitting in my office and hoping that Ohio State can beat Texas. Not that I am an OSU fan but I do like some of their fans that I know through racing and also the fact that USC beat them up this year. It would make a statement. Go OSU! Last week was probably the most stressful week of my life. As A1 was approaching things went crazy around here. On Monday I received a call from MDK Speed Equipment saying that our race bikes were ready to be picked up. There was talk of MDK delivering them but things got busy and that wasn't going to happen. So Monday evening I drove North on I-5 towards San Jose. At midnight I bedded down in a Super 8 for a few hours. By 7am I was at MDK speed picking up the bikes. At 9am I began to drive home. The Semi was to arrive on December 27th (Saturday before A1) but was but was caught in a snow storm in Northern Utah. No big deal we still had a few days to wrap the rig and load it up for SX. Well the rig finally made it to So Cal on New Years day at 3pm. We had no time to wrap it since it had to be at the stadium in the morning. Justin Keeney and Carlos Gonzalez were breaking in the motors at the KTM test track on New Years day when Justin's motor blew. MDK speed is closed on New Years day but Chris checked his email and called me late that evening and said that he would bring the parts to fix the motor on Friday at Anaheim Stadium. Sure enough the parts arrived and we began to rebuild the motor.  A few more parts were needed and we had to wait for Eric to Arrive in the morning. He was flying in to John Wayne Airport at 10am. Tech inspection ends at 11:30am. At 11:25 I began begging. We have to pass sound and tech to be able to race. At 11:34 Justin's bike rolled through tech and passed. The KTM Factory team went beyond and rebuilt the motor for us. Thank you KTM! Thanks Jeff from the AMA for allowing us a few extra minutes. Sound check is another story. We passed but it was a fiasco and expensive. Justin qualified 16th and Carlos 18th. They both have really good speed and should do fine this season. We had some trouble with starts in the qualifiers and neither rider made the main event. Today both riders are concentrating on starts and should do better in Phoenix on Saturday. Our semi had a huge crowd all day due to VCM (Visual Creative Media) who placed 10 flat screen TV's in our pit showing Godfrey Films. By A2 we will have around 20 screens showing action sports clips and ads from our sponsors. It's a brand new thing at Supercross and it created quite a stir. Come check it out at A2. Got to go cheer on OSU.....Fight on Buckeyes..............e
